The public Fut coins will be quizzed on whether they would support a change to the law that would make research on embryos legal in order to fight hereditary diseases, the Department of Health and Dept of Business, Innovation and Skills have announced.
The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) will lead the discussion to determine whether new scientific procedure, which could prevent women with mitochondrial disease from passing the illness to their children, should be introduced. This will be launched later this year |
